Dinosaur Island

By Westover Farm, Jul 4 2013 12:00PM

Here on the Isle of Wight we are home to a wealth of dinosaur heritage. There are many attractions that offer a chance to learn about and experience this fascinating subject on our doorstep. Island attractions such as; Dinosaur Isle, Dinosaur Fossil Hunts and Jurassic Jim are just some of the ways in which visitors (and locals!) can discover the history of dinosaurs.

With the December release of “Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie” on the horizon, Visit Isle of Wight have released an app for your smart phone or tablet that allows you discover the dinosaurs in the places they were discovered here on the Island. The app takes users across the Island to learn about the different dinosaurs as well as have their picture taken with them! Starting in Yaverland on the east side of the Island and working its way to; Bonchurch, Ventonor, Baclkgang, Compton and finally The Needles on the western side of the Isle of Wight. What a great way of using technology to learn about our wonderful Island and its history as well as getting out there and seeing some fantastic sights along the way!
